This turns out to be a mammoth development in the energy sector of Pakistan, as Mari Petroleum Company has discovered new gas reserves from five wells in Balochistan.
The company has conducted testing, production, and transmission for an additional 3 million metric standard cubic feet per day of gas and is now supplying it to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
The formal announcement for this development was made only after detailed reports in this regard were furnished to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The natural gas extracted is from the Ghazij Gas Field, which is a valuable addition to the energy resources of the country.
Earlier, on the 1st of July, the other discovery was related to new gas reserves in Sindh.
The firm informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange in a letter that it had drilled a 1,006-meter well in the Ghazij Formation, with initial tests indicating that it holds 5 million standard cubic feet per day of gas.
