Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik has delivered encouraging news to the public, announcing a reduction in electricity prices. In a recent statement, Malik revealed that electricity bills for 86% of households in the country will be lower than last year’s.
According to the announcement, the government will absorb the additional cost burden for these households. This means that the electricity bills for July will be reduced compared to the previous year. The government has already allocated 50 billion rupees from the national treasury to support this initiative.
The primary goal of this measure is to alleviate the financial strain on lower-income families. Malik also mentioned that the Prime Minister has established several committees to oversee the implementation of this plan, each focused on finding effective ways to reduce the burden on the poor.
Importantly, the new policy ensures that all government officials, including MNAs, ministers, and senior officers, will not receive any free electricity and will be responsible for paying their own bills.
Malik’s announcement brings a much-needed relief to many households and underscores the government’s commitment to easing the financial pressures faced by ordinary citizens.
