OGDCL Discovers New Gas Reserves in Rahim Yar Khan, Boosting Energy Sector

Rahim Yar Khan, August 14: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced a significant discovery of new gas reserves in Punjab, marking a notable advancement for Pakistan’s energy sector and economy.

The newly uncovered reserves are located in the Mari East Block, specifically in Chak 1-202 of Rahim Yar Khan district.

According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the reserves are estimated to produce 6.15 million cubic feet of gas per day, providing a substantial contribution to the country’s energy resources.

This discovery represents OGDCL’s second consecutive success in identifying gas reserves this month, reinforcing the company’s role in bolstering the nation’s energy infrastructure.

The spokesperson highlighted that this new find is expected to help bridge the gap between domestic gas supply and demand, ensuring a more stable energy supply for the country.

OGDCL’s ongoing efforts to explore and develop energy resources underscore its commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s energy sector and supporting economic growth.

This discovery is seen as a vital step towards reducing the country’s reliance on imported energy, offering a promising outlook for Pakistan’s energy independence and sustainability.
