In the face of inflation that leaves many struggling to afford basic necessities, Pakistan’s Parliament House is grappling with a different issue—an infestation of rats. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has come up with a unique solution to address the problem: enlisting the services of hunter cats.
Sources reveal that the abundance of rats is due to the ceilings of the Parliament House, leading to significant damage across various departments of both the Senate and the National Assembly. The rats have even gnawed through important files on several occasions.
To combat this, the CDA has decided not only to hire these feline hunters but also to install special mesh-covered windows to trap the rodents. The budget for this project has been set at over PKR 1.2 million for the entire year, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
