In a new development in the Karsaz accident case, an additional charge has been filed against the accused, Natasha. The investigating police have now included the Motor Vehicle Ordinance’s Section 100, which pertains to driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants.
The incident, which occurred in Karsaz, involved Natasha allegedly driving under the influence, leading to a tragic accident that left a father and daughter severely injured. The initial charges were filed following the detection of intoxication during the investigation. The newly added Section 100 specifically addresses cases where an individual, while driving under the influence, causes an accident or is caught driving in such a state.
Investigating officer Ikram stated that this section is applicable not only when an accident occurs but also when an individual is found driving under the influence of any substance. With this addition, the updated FIR will be presented in court during the upcoming proceedings, where the court will be informed of the new charges.
The tragic accident claimed the lives of two individuals, and it was reported that before the fatal collision, Natasha had already hit another vehicle and was attempting to flee the scene. Initially, there were claims regarding her mental state, but tests conducted by Dr. Jameel Lal, head of the concerned department at JPMC, confirmed that Natasha was mentally sound, with no history of any medication that could have impaired her judgment.
Further evidence of crystal meth use was found in her urine samples, leading to the inclusion of the new charge. The case is expected to proceed with the updated charges in the next court session.
