Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has terminated Javed Iqbal Bajwa, the Deputy Station Manager in Birmingham, after it was revealed that his intermediate certificate from the Lahore Board was fake. Bajwa, who is the elder brother of retired General Qamar Javed Bajwa, was asked to resign following an investigation.
PIA issued a show-cause notice on July 30, 2024, to Bajwa, but after failing to respond, he was forced to resign. Unlike other employees dismissed over fake degrees, Bajwa was allowed to retire with full financial benefits due to pressure from family sources. Bajwa had joined PIA in 1970 and later obtained British citizenship.
PIA spokesperson confirmed the details, adding that Bajwa’s resignation marks the end of a long career with the airline.
