In a significant move for the future of Pakistan cricket, Chairman PCB Mohsin has announced plans to hold high-level meetings and workshops to shape the direction of the national team. The initiative, named the “Connection Camp,” is expected to take place on September 22, 2024.
Mohsin himself will chair the sessions and participate in the workshop, alongside prominent figures such as Gary Kirsten, heads of international, domestic, and high-performance cricket, senior cricketers, coaches, and PCB officials.
The camp will focus on gathering recommendations from experts, which will influence future decisions for Pakistan cricket.
Discussions are also expected around the roles of the captains for both red-ball and white-ball formats, with the possibility of appointing a new captain for the white-ball squad ahead of the tour to Australia. Additionally, Test captain Shan Masood’s leadership is under review.
Gary Kirsten, who had submitted a comprehensive report earlier in July, will also participate in the sessions. Jason Gillespie, the white-ball coach, is likely to join the discussions after his return from Australia following the Bangladesh series.
The PCB aims to revamp its cricketing strategies based on the outcomes of the camp, ensuring the national team’s competitive future.
