In a significant development, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has ordered the immediate release of all arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of the National Assembly (MNAs). The Speaker directed Inspector General (IG) Islamabad to release the detained MNAs and has demanded a detailed report on the entire situation surrounding their arrests.

The orders come following the arrests of several PTI members inside the Parliament House premises. Speaking firmly, Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that he will not tolerate the humiliation of the assembly members under any circumstances. He reiterated that the National Assembly is the house of the people, and as its custodian, he is responsible for ensuring the dignity of its members.

“I will not stand for the disrespect of any member. All those arrested must be released immediately,” said Sadiq, as he issued production orders for the detained members.

The Speaker had earlier summoned the IG Islamabad to his office to discuss the arrests. During the meeting, Sadiq made it clear that the recent incident of detaining PTI MNAs was unacceptable and that the responsible authorities must provide a full report detailing the reasons behind the arrests.

Several PTI members have expressed frustration, stating that many of those arrested were not named in any FIRs but were still apprehended by police from within the premises of the National Assembly.

This move comes amidst heightened political tensions as PTI continues to hold public rallies and demonstrations. Further updates are expected as the report from IG Islamabad is submitted to the Speaker’s office later today.
