Recent reports suggesting that facilities for Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had been revoked or restricted have been officially denied by jail authorities. According to Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum of the Adiala Jail, Imran Khan continues to receive all amenities as per the jail manual.

For the past few days, there have been various claims and allegations about the reduction of facilities for Imran Khan, including reports that the conditions in his cell had become more stringent. However, Superintendent Anjum clarified that these claims are unfounded. He assured that Imran Khan is provided with all the facilities entitled to him under the jail manual, including access to daily newspapers, exercise equipment, and a designated area for walking.

Additionally, a separate kitchen has been allocated for Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. Reports of requests for dumbbells for exercise have been noted, and the jail administration is addressing these requests in accordance with judicial directives.

The superintendent also addressed concerns about the cell conditions. There had been allegations of poor hygiene and pest issues in Bushra Bibi’s cell. The administration has refuted these claims, stating that the cell is equipped with proper sealing and no evidence of pests.

The jail authorities emphasize that Imran Khan, as a former Prime Minister, continues to receive the necessary facilities as per the regulations and that all standard procedures are being followed to ensure his well-being.
