Islamabad: The Pakistani Army conducted a successful rescue operation, saving six climbers from different countries—the United States, Chile, Macedonia, and Nepal. While preparing for the ascend of K2, these climbers were stranded at the mountain base camp due to severe high-altitude conditions.

The climbers had contacted the Pakistani Army for assistance, to which the military responded promptly and launched a challenging rescue mission. All six are now safe and out of danger.

The climbers expressed their heartiest thanks to the Pakistani Army for its assistance and acknowledged that it was quite an effort on its part. This is the rescue operation that would definitely instill the concept of ill-fated humanitarian aid in mountaineering and show how collaboration goes on effectively between the climbers and the related rescue team.
