In an exclusive interview with journalist Hamid Mir on the program “Capital Talk,” Pakistani Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem revealed that after the Tokyo Olympics, he received offers to leave Pakistan for better training facilities abroad. Nadeem stated that these offers came with the promise of making him a world champion. However, he declined them, expressing his deep love for Pakistan.

“I was offered training abroad after the Tokyo Olympics, but my love for the soil of Pakistan is too strong. I decided to stay here and train in my own country, aiming to become a world champion while representing Pakistan on the global stage,” Nadeem shared.

During the interview, Nadeem’s mother also spoke, extending an invitation to India’s javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra to visit Pakistan. She praised Nadeem’s decision to remain in his homeland despite the international offers, emphasizing how many athletes receive similar offers after gaining fame.

Nadeem expressed his pride in training in Pakistan and highlighted the need for world-class facilities within the country, stating, “I believe we can make Pakistan proud while staying and training here.”

The interview concluded with a hopeful note for the future, as Nadeem aims to continue his journey towards the Paris Olympics, aspiring to bring more glory to Pakistan.
