The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, significantly increasing the allocation for domestic and women’s cricket.
During a meeting of the PCB Board of Governors in Lahore, the budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year were sanctioned. The budget for women’s cricket has been raised from PKR 70 million to PKR 240 million, alongside an increase in their central contracts. Additionally, PKR 4 billion has been earmarked for domestic cricket.
A PCB statement highlighted that PKR 12.8 billion from the development budget will be dedicated to upgrading the stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi in preparation for hosting the Champions Trophy.
Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, emphasized the importance of world-class arrangements for the Champions Trophy, ensuring the stadium upgrades are completed before the event. He also mentioned that these upgrades will enhance facilities for cricket fans.
