Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed an investigation into the disappearance of 34,000 tons of wheat from PASCO (Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation) warehouses. The missing wheat, reported in 2022, has prompted the Prime Minister to issue orders for tracing the lost grains.

The investigation will be led by the Directorate General of FIA (Federal Investigation Agency). The Prime Minister has also instructed a thorough inquiry into the past two years of inspection and bureaucratic failures, focusing particularly on the former MD of PASCO, Captain (retd) Saad. The inquiry into his conduct is to be completed within a week.

Documents reveal that the former MD of PASCO was a retired officer and a member of the Commission. The Prime Minister has emphasized that action should be taken against all individuals responsible for the loss and that an investigation into the financial discrepancies and interest payments related to PASCO is necessary.
