An incident of police brutality against a Pakistani family at Manchester Airport has sparked widespread outrage. A video circulating on social media shows police officers kicking a man lying on the ground. Efforts by the man’s mother and son to intervene were visible in the footage.

Greater Manchester Police reported that an altercation broke out among passengers at the airport. When police arrived, one individual attacked the officers during their attempt to make an arrest. The altercation resulted in injuries to three officers, including a female officer who suffered a broken nose.

The police have arrested four individuals and brought the situation under control. Assistant Chief Constable Waseem Chaudhry stated that one of the officers involved in the incident has been suspended, and the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

In response to the incident, an overnight protest took place, with a large crowd gathering outside the Rochdale police station. Demonstrators, including a significant number of women, chanted against police brutality and labeled the incident as driven by hatred and bias. They called for the immediate arrest of the officers involved in the violence. Additionally, there is now a call for further protests at the Manchester office today.
