LAHORE: After the end of the summer holidays, schools across Punjab, including Lahore, are set to reopen today. The Punjab Education Department has issued a notification outlining the schedule for government schools. Schools will now operate five days a week, with Saturdays and Sundays off.
Male teachers are required to be present from Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Female teachers, on the other hand, will be released slightly earlier at 2:30 PM. Schools operating on a double-shift system will have the first shift from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and the second shift will run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On Fridays, all schools will function from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In Sindh, schools are also resuming regular classes today. According to the Sindh Education Department, both public and private schools will follow their standard academic routines. Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah expressed good wishes for students and emphasized the importance of teachers fulfilling their responsibilities with honesty. He also highlighted that the merit-based recruitment of teachers has brought about improvements in the education system, and the ongoing education reforms will continue to enhance the province’s education sector.
With necessary arrangements in place for the new academic year, students and teachers in both Punjab and Sindh are gearing up for a smooth transition back to school after the summer break.
