The Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology has given authorities a two-week deadline to address widespread internet slowdowns and social media disruptions across Pakistan.
During a meeting led by Senator Palwasha Khan, members expressed concerns over the severe impact on businesses, with losses estimated at Rs500 million.
IT Ministry officials attributed the issue to technical problems affecting mobile networks, while discussions on the new internet firewall were postponed.
The committee has requested a detailed report on the financial implications of these disruptions.
