The much-publicized altercation outside the Punjab Assembly involving Tahir Anjum, President of the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Cultural Wing, has been revealed as a staged incident. Tahir Anjum, who had initially filed a complaint against PTI’s Anila Riaz, also known as Neeli Pari, has withdrawn the case.
According to police sources, it has emerged that both parties had collaborated to orchestrate the incident as a publicity stunt to boost their respective party profiles. The drama unfolded on Wednesday evening when an alleged scuffle between Anila Riaz and Tahir Anjum took place outside the Punjab Assembly. Anila was accused of tearing Tahir’s clothes and physically assaulting him, leading to a police chase and her subsequent arrest.
However, investigations revealed that both individuals had a pre-existing relationship. CCTV footage from Anjum’s home and call records from his mobile phone exposed the pre-planned nature of the altercation. It was discovered that Anila had been at Anjum’s house the night before and had even taken a rickshaw ride with him to the assembly. They were in contact multiple times on the day of the incident.
Following the arrest of Anila, it was disclosed that the entire event was a set-up. Tahir Anjum has since requested the withdrawal of the case, admitting that both he and Anila were seeking to enhance their visibility within their parties.
