The number of visa applications for workers and students wanting to move to the UK has significantly decreased over the past year.
Reports indicate a one-third drop in student visa applications, attributed to restrictions imposed by the previous government on bringing dependents for students and healthcare workers.
In recent months, the number of visa applications fell from 141,000 in July to 91,000. The most notable decline was among healthcare workers.
According to a Home Office spokesperson, while immigration brings many benefits, it should be fair and controlled.
Nadra Ameen, Executive Chairperson of the National Care Association, noted that strict immigration policies have led many individuals to return to their home countries or move to nations with more lenient immigration rules. Immigration numbers, which had risen to 760,000, have seen a 10% decrease in recent years.
