Popular YouTuber and artist Aun Ali Khosa has reportedly gone missing after the release of his satirical song “Bil bil Pakistan,” which criticizes rising electricity prices and ongoing public struggles in the country.
According to his brother, Ali Sher Khosa, unidentified armed individuals allegedly took Aun Ali Khosa into custody late at night. The incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing concern for his safety and criticizing the apparent targeting of the artist.
Ali Sher Khosa took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), asking for prayers and urging people to share the news widely. He emphasized the importance of the situation for their family. The artist’s detention has triggered outrage, with many speculating that his satirical take on the recent electricity price hikes may have led to his arrest.
Social media users have voiced their concerns, condemning the authorities for not tolerating even humor or satire. One user remarked that Khosa’s parody song, which highlighted the public’s frustration with rising utility costs, became his “crime,” resulting in his detention.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) officials have also spoken out, urging authorities to release Aun Ali Khosa and others who have been unlawfully detained. They condemned the detention, calling it unacceptable and illegal, and stressed the need to uphold democratic values.

Wajahat Sumi, a notable commentator, said that Khosa’s song had highlighted how the public still suffers from poverty and hardship, despite 77 years of independence. He called the detention a severe blow to freedom of expression.
